We currently have a number of student leaders that are part of Impact youth volunteering their time at the Sherwood Middle School.
Over the last year we have taken on a number of painting projects painting some rooms that haven’t been painted in over twenty years!!! We have had the oppertunity of going in for sixth grade orientation and getting to help the sixth graders on their first day of school find their classrooms, lockers and just getting to know them.
Currently the students that are volunteering are going in during lunch and just hanging with the students and getting to know them. You can ask any of the students that volunteer and they will admit it has probably been the coolest experience they’ve had.
The biggest reason the student leaders go in is cause they were once in Junior High and they wish that had people coming in and just hanging with them, listen to them and help them with the problems they have.
